…I want to share with you the meeting with my interior designer in Spain with the Legacy print of Natalia which I brought to her studio to discuss how to frame it. …Firstly, Lola Carrillo and her team had tears in their eyes when I opened the packaging and showed them the print. Speechless they were for 10 minutes while I started to cry! Everyone´s hair was standing. They all have met Natalia while doing the interiors of our house in Spain and her team agreed that you have SO CAPTURED Natalia’s essence (literal translation here of “esencia”). Lola, who is one of the top IDs in Madrid told me that she has never seen such artistic work done here in Spain. Her comment was “chappeau!” …My dear, you have outdone yourself! ~ MaiteB, Madrid, Spain 2009
You are super rich and have a depth that most people overlook, I think. Probably think you are a bit flighty and flakey. But your pictures have this deepness to them, not only in the rich colors you tend to lean towards, but in the more dramatic flair you have for how you use light and the moments that touch you the most. I think it comes from having seen a lot of struggle and strife for others and feeling like the world has so much of a story to tell….You’re not one of those people who are going to take pictures of the kids at the party who are laughing and eating lollipops. you’re going to notice the sweet little toddler in the corner crying quiet crocodile tears because his ice cream fell of his ice cream cone. those are just the moments you are most drawn to. Not the sad ones, necessarily, but the ones rich with deep emotion — the couple in a quiet moment looking deeply into each other’s eyes is going to be more powerful to you than the one where they are laughing and skipping down the road. …You are a much more introspective photographer. ~ WendyS, Adv Workshop, 2009
